Areia Score
A data and scouting platform for footvolley.

Footvolley had no stats. Who played well, who made more errors, which side the ball landed on: all opinion, no record. We decided to fix that with a product of our own, Areia Score, live at futevoleistats.com.br. The idea fits in one sentence: be the FBref of footvolley. The history of the sport, told through data, play by play.
How it works
A scout logs every play live, from a phone, right at the edge of the court. The court is split into nine quadrants, and each play records position, body part and play type. From that come stats per player, per pair and per tournament, open for anyone to browse on the platform.
Why build our own
No off-the-shelf SaaS existed for this sport, and bending a generic tool would kill the granularity we wanted. So we built the app from scratch: Next.js, Prisma and Postgres, mobile-first, made to work on the sand, with sun on the screen and shaky 4G.
The result
The community ran with it. Data highlights posted on Instagram added up to 600 thousand views, all organic, no paid media. Athletes sharing their own stats is marketing we could never buy.
