New Belgium Rug Company
A rug e-commerce store in the United States.
The family behind New Belgium Rug has cleaned, restored and sold rugs in the United States for over 50 years. What was missing was selling online. The vendor catalog existed, but on PDF: a price sheet and a 773-page catalog with collections, colors and photos. Turning that paper into a store was the project.
The challenge
Nobody was going to enter hundreds of rugs by hand. We wrote scripts that read the vendor PDFs and pull price, collection, size, color and photo for every product, using the document’s coordinates so no row drifts. The result: 75 sellable collections and 789 products with photos, built with zero typing.
What we built
An English-language store with browsing by collection, product pages with size variations, Stripe checkout and an admin panel the family runs themselves. Next.js with Drizzle and Postgres underneath, and images served properly so the store stays fast even with a large catalog.
